Meerschaum Cowboy.  Huge in size.  #8698
This is not only a huge piece of high quality block meerschaum,
it is very well carved.  I can't really imagine smoking it, but I can
certainly see it as a showpiece in a den or living room.  By the
way, one could make a case for this being an attempt at John
Wayne.  I wouldn't go too far with this idea, but  I won't
completely dismiss it, either.  Late breaking news...my partner,
David Field thinks this might be a French Cavalier (chevalier)
rather than a cowboy.  Might well be
15" long, bowl 7 1/4" high: Weight; 1 Lb., 10 oz.  730 grams.
New.  Price. $1250
Tsuge (Japan) Volcano Grade CD #44
An oval shanked Volcano style bowl with good, if not
particularly tight straight grain all around the bowl.  It’s a grade
CD and currently sports a price tag of only $340, which is an
extremely favorable $200 under retail.  Just tellin’ ya.
Stats: 4.75” long, bowl 1 7/8” tall, at highest point (bowl rim
angles down toward smoker); Weight 1.48 oz. 42.2 grams. New.
$340
Tsuge (Japan) Ikebana Grade AB.#47
Very, very similar (if not exactly like) #44. In fact, I could have
sold this pipe to a customer if I could have found it…I thought I
simply duplicated the photo of #44 and priced it lower than that
pipe. Oh well, I found it now, and #44 is now at what this pipe
was then, so this pipe is now going for a lot less than it’s
original $340. How about $280? If my first would-be buyer is
paying attention, he might be glad he waited. Check out the s/g
on this…why is it priced so low?
Stats:5 ¼” long, bowl 1 7/8” high: Weight; 1 ¼ oz. 38 grams.
New. $280
Sevket Gezer Carved Meerschaum #7841
I hope the presentation of this magnificently carved
meerschaum helps reduce the intense anger that I detect is
swelling out there due to my failure to include any significant
Turkish pieces among the mix.  Photographs can not do justice
to the intricacy of the carving on every single milimeter of
surface.
7 1/8" long, bowl 2 1/8" high: Weight; 3.06 oz., 86.8 grams. New
Price. $225
CAO Meerschaum 10271168
Quite handsome and the result of a lot of laborious hand work.
It's unsmoked and comes in a solid, felt covered box.  The draw
is pretty open for a meerschaum, and even the stemwork
provides for a comfortable fit.  New. Price: $75
6 3/8" long, bowl 2 1/8" high. Weight: 2 1/8 oz., 59 grams.
Castello Tampers
The smooth finish is 3 9/16" long, the light blast is 4 3/8" long,
and the dark sandblast is 3 15/16" long (almost). $125 each
Nubian Head...Austrian Carved Meerschaum #1261904 SW
If you want to know more about this pipe, call or write.  I am no
Meerschaum expert.  I'm arbitrarily pricing it at $250.
4.2" long, bowl 1.75" high. Weight: 1 oz., 28 grams. Well used.
David Enrique #372266
This pipe, appropriately enough a Billiard, introduces David
Enrique, a French pipe maker.  As this site isn't as
sophisticated as others out there, I had to find a place to put
David's pipes and opted for the Miscellaneous page.  It is a
matter of expedience and is in no way intended to offend.  I
certainly hope that is understood by one and all.  The three
pipes that I just purchased from David are all smooth, but he
just purchased a sandblasting machine (which is very
expensive, thus testifying to David's very serious attitude about
becoming the best pipe maker that he possibly can) so we
should see some of the deep, beautiful blasts he knows we
gravitate towards here in America.  I also encourage to look at
some of the David Enrique pipes on Mike Glukler's Briar Blues
site.  (Don't tell him I sent you...he'll think I want a kick-back.)
For whatever reason, David is bent on understanding and
catering to the U.S. market, thus the draw on each of these
pipes is as wide open as can be.  That, along with the uncoated
bowl on this pipe should make it a great smoker.  New. Price:
$300
5.7" long, bowl 1.9" high. Weight: 1 3/8 oz., 39 grams.
Boxed Old Meerschaum Set #10271171(SOLD 6/30/08)
The maker of this set is "S.G.R." and who that is I just don't
know.  The stems are of bakkelite, I'm pretty sure, and there's
some rather ornate scroll work on the metal used to trim the
pipes.  In the middle of the green felt, between the pipes, is
space for a tamper, but that is long gone.  The pipes are
smoked, but not much, and that's probably because the draw is
so bad that it couldn't have been fun to smoke these, even
back in the teens, when they didn't know much better.  But it is
an attractive collector's piece, and each pipe is in excellent
condition, although the stem on the bottom pipe does not fully
fill the cut out.  If the tip of the stem was cut and reworked, it
was a very good job as the button seems round and smooth
and doesn't look at all like an afterthough.  Used. $50
The measurements and weight pertain to the straight pipe.
5 1/8" long, bowl 1 12/16" high. Weight: 1 3/8 oz., 38 grams.
David Enrique #372264  (SOLD 3/24/08)
A drip of dark stain into the bowl forced David to coat the
tobacco chamber of this pipe, but it is as open a draw as could
be possible, and a gem to hold in your hand.  New. Price: $300
5.2" long, bowl 2" high.  Weight: 2.5 oz., 71 grams.
David Enrique Acorn #372269
The pipe seems to be the perfect size for the shape.  Once
again, the chamber is uncoated and the draw entirely free and
open.  The light background and dark contrasting grain should
have this coloring beautifully.  He must have very high quality
stems because the look and feel like lucite but are hand cut
vulcanite.  New. Price: $300
5.3" long, bowl 2.3" high. Weight: 1 5/8 oz., 46 grams.
Tsuge Ikebana E #372196PN  (SOLD 4/15/08)
This short, stubby, brilliantly designed pipe is what I think
Tsuge pipes can be when they are at their most creative.
You've got that little wind-cap of a bowl.  Below the stem is a
tamper, which fits in flush to the mother-of-pearl trim.  the
condition is excellent.  Used. Price: $325
4.9" long, bowl 2" high. Weight: 2 oz., 55 grams.
Tsuge Volcano Grade D #372194PN  (RESERVED)
There's more nomenclature on this pipe than I can figure out.
Suffice to say, it's in excellent condition and has been in the
collection of a very astute pipe man for about 15 years. Used.
4.8" long, bowl 1.75" high. Weight: .75 oz., 21 grams.  $175
Tsuge Grade B #372163PN
Here is another version, this one sandblasted, of Tsuge's great
Volcano shape.  The most notable aspect of this pipe is its
tremendously comfortable hand cut stem, and that is not an
inconsequential thing.  The condition is excellent. Used. $150
4.75" long, bowl 1.8" high. Weight: .75 oz., 24 grams.
